love this shot. if you have a new camera and you actually have a dog that will SIT STILL for the shot, then yes, perfect first photo. my dog just runs right at the camera no matter what I say, do or coax with.

I got the Panasonic Lumix GF1 for a walkabout camera, and I love it!
Mine is luckily old enough that he’s moving slower these days.
